Twin Tech IV

If you're looking to expand your network in DC, the Twin Tech series of parties is a great way to go. Twin Tech IV was tonight. The nice thing is the published attendee list ahead of time, so you can get a feel of who's going to be there. And, you can always watch Twitter search in realtime to see what's going on.

Twin Tech III

Some quick thoughts from attending Twin Tech III tonight:

Great turnout - I ran into a lot of folks I know from the DC new media scene
Tiny nametags - definitely something to work on for next time...squinting to try and see if someone had a company name was borderline socially uncomfortable.
Live Twitter feed - I loved the live Twitter feed, and would mention the name of the company that sponsored it if I could remember it.
Music - not sure if it's even necessary, given everyone was there to chat.
Mix of people - lots of service providers, lots of people running their own sites, and a decent number of people job hunting.

Twin Tech II

I was at Twin Tech II on Thursday night. It was a fun event - lots of tech folks taking over Avenue in DC. Nice pictures by Washingtonian, who sponsored part of the event. Best overview of people attending was by Sashi. Twitter posts/comments. Some notable networking approaches - wearing a Tshirt with your company logo is an excellent conversation starter. Kudos to Justin Thorp of Clearspring. There was a also a sports company that was a partial sponsor, that had Tshirts. Adding a tag line to a name tag stands out - "The PR Guy" Jeff Majka stood out. To Peter Corbett - really well put together.
Updated: Peter, from iStrategy, who organized it has put together a comprehensive list of coverage.
