Kohl's, Tassimo, Dell

Thursday Tidbits:

Kohl's vs. camera phone, and camera phone is winning:

Dell might make computer to computer transfer easier:
This would be hugely popular.

LinkedIn extreme makeover:

Ordering Tassimo refills directly from Tassimo: 21 days from order to delivery. While Amazon would have been (much, much) quicker, Tassimo does have friendly people who pick up the phone and tell you where your package is. Of course, letting me look it up online would probably allow them to lower their prices to be more comparable to some of the other online vendors.

This quote from a recent press release is interesting: "We are dedicated to rewarding Tassimo consumers with an unrivaled at-home coffeehouse experience," said Lorraine Hansen, Vice President, Marketing, Coffee-on-Demand, Kraft Foods. "Adding super-premium brands like Seattle's Best Coffee® and Tazo to our collection, Tassimo continues to meet and exceed our consumers' extensive taste preferences."
Who knew there was a Coffee-on-Demand department? I also wonder about the writing of that release. How do you "exceed our consumers extensive taste preferences"? If my taste preference is for Starbucks coffee, how do you exceed that? Better Starbucks coffee than Starbucks makes? Is the Tassimo more consistent than a barista? I'd believe that, but this has the feel of something a corporate communications churned out after 72 revisions. At least it's good coffee :)

Tassimo ordering

Quick update on the Tassimo post from a week or so ago. I ordered from Tassimo, more to try it out than any huge advantage vs. Amazon. The order was placed December 27th, and I had to call today to find out my order shipped 1/4. I realize that New Years was in there, but there were at least 4 or 5 business days before it shipped. No web interface, delayed shipping, and slightly higher cost; it's easy to see where I'll order from next time :)
