Old conferences

I've had a couple of experiences with content from conferences that I've participated in resurfacing. EcomExpo this year had rebroadcast an Affiliate Marketing Panel I had done at eTail a while back. The most recent was coming back from regional Shop.org dinners and Search Engine Strategies this past week. I was reading a copy of Search Marketing Standard that I picked up. There's an article title "Fitting SEO into the Company Puzzle". I haven't found it online yet, but there's a quote from the panel I was on at SES in 2006 where I had referenced thanking the staff that's helping you implement an SEO plan. Still good advice, and fun to see that pop up again :)

Two interesting thoughts from today:

The Shop.org blog has an article about the costs that search engine marketing firms charge. The comments on the original post on Search Engine Land are interesting, although no consensus has emerged.

There seem to be a few different stories on Stradavarius violins lately. There was the excellent piece in the Washington Post Magazine on what happens if you put a world class violinist in the Metro, playing for spare change. Portfolio magazine has an article about the new patrons of the arts who loan out their Stradavarius to young, talented musicians. I was curious how many are left, and found this article, that mentioned that there are about 650 remaining, while modern makers work to find the secrets to their unique sound.
