Tysabri

Biogen and Elan have suspended marketing and clinical-trial use of multiple sclerosis treatment Tysabri and alerted doctors to stop using the drug. The decision, which was voluntary, came after one patient died and another developed a serious disease of the central nervous system after taking Tysabri in combination with another drug.
